United States Seniors are now faced with going hungry. The debilitating Sequester Budget cuts are forcing Meals on Wheels to severely reduce the meals they deliver, as well as not take on any new seniors who are in need of this service.
Meals on Wheels Association of America is the largest National organization composed of and representing local community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in the U.S. They contribute to approximately 1 Million meals per day. However, with the 2013 Sequester, those numbers will decline, which will increase the already high number of seniors who are left hungry in the United States. Shame on lawmakers who are allowing this to reach this point.
